Day Shift CNC Machinist
Location: Gaston, OR
Shift: Day Shift, Mon-Fri
Pay: $20-$35/hr.
OPTI Staffing is partnering with a precision manufacturing company that specializes in prototype machining for high-tolerance components, including work in firearms and specialty equipment industries. This is a great opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist who is comfortable working independently and keeping production running smoothly on the day shift.
Job Summary
This role will focus on maintaining continuous production during the day shift, monitoring CNC machines, making adjustments as needed, and ensuring quality standards are met on stainless steel and titanium parts. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and confident running jobs without direct supervision.
Responsibilities
Keep CNC production running throughout the day shift
Monitor machine performance and make offsets / adjustments as needed
Run and oversee Swiss lathes, CNC lathes, and CNC mills
Work with stainless steel and titanium materials regularly
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and machining specs
Perform basic setups, tool changes, and troubleshooting
Inspect finished parts to ensure tight tolerances are met
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Communicate production issues to leadership
Qualifications
3–5+ years of CNC machining experience required
Experience working with Swiss lathes, CNC lathes, and mills required
Experience machining stainless steel, titanium, or other hard metals
Ability to work independently on the day shift
Strong understanding of tolerances and precision machining
Comfortable working in a prototype / short-run environment
Setup experience preferred, but not required
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
