Commercial Paralegal

Locum Commercial Contracts Paralegal – Full Time – £30–£45 per hour umbrella – Hybrid Working – Oxfordshire – Initial 6 months Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Contracts Paralegal to join a Local Authority in the South East on an initial maternity cover assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to support a busy Legal Services team handling contractual and advisory matters. The Role: Position: Locum Contracts Paralegal Duration: Initial 6 months with potential extension thereafter Rate: £30–£45 per hour umbrella (dependent on experience) Working Pattern: Full Time Working Arrangement: Hybrid – ideally office attendance once per week (Tuesday team day) Duties will include: • Acting as a fee earner within Legal Services, supporting solicitors and senior lawyers • Preparing and advising on low value contracts, funding agreements and other miscellaneous agreements under supervision • Preparing court forms and issuing proceedings • Using IKEN and CaseLines for court bundling and case management, acting as a superuser • Liaising with solicitors and case holders to obtain instructions and provide advice on non-complex matters • Preparing instructions to Counsel and attending court where required • Reporting to solicitors following hearings • Assisting with the preparation of court bundles and overseeing legal assistants where necessary • Managing correspondence and general case progression • Assisting with the preparation of monthly statistics • Ensuring compliance with Data Protection and security protocols Ideal Candidate: • Previous experience working within a Local Authority Legal Services team • Experience handling contracts and advisory matters • Familiarity with IKEN and CaseLines systems • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload under supervision • Ability to attend the office in Oxfordshire on a weekly basis For further information, or to apply for this role, please contact Philippa Stoate or Ebby Vallance on 07441 916438 or email localgovlegal@venngroup.com Job Reference: J93643 Venn Group is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all candidates.
