About the Role

Overview

Our Warehouse Zone Managers play a vital part in the smooth running of our two Stoke Distribution Centres, which together span over 1 million sq ft of operational space. You’ll be based at one site but may be required to support either location depending on business needs.
Each site is made up of several departments that work together to ensure our products reach customers efficiently—whether that’s internal teams, store deliveries, eCommerce, or 2‑person home delivery. Departments include Inbound, Outbound, Picking, Waste/Dekit, Web, and MHE Operations (FLT, LLOP, MLLOP, VNA).
As a Zone Manager, you’ll lead the people and processes within a defined operational area, creating an efficient, safe, and customer‑focused working environment. You’ll proactively manage Health & Safety, drive performance against KPIs, and play a key role in building an engaged, motivated team. Colleague engagement is central to how we work at Dunelm, and our eNPS score helps us continually improve the experience of our teams.

What you'll be doing

• Leading and developing your team to deliver strong performance and a positive site culture.
• Ensuring your operational area runs efficiently, accurately, and with a strong customer focus.
• Proactively managing Health & Safety risks to maintain a safe working environment.
• Supporting cross‑site operations when required, adapting to changing business needs.
• Role modelling high standards and addressing issues promptly and professionally.
• Coaching, engaging, and supporting colleagues to help them grow and succeed.
• Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth end‑to‑end processes.
• Using colleague feedback and performance insights to drive continuous improvement.

What we'll look for in you

• Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge the norm and share best practice.
• Experience leading teams in operational environments; logistics experience is an advantage.
• A flexible, supportive approach, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
• A reliable, trustworthy, and team‑focused mindset.
• The ability to stay calm, composed, and solutions‑focused under pressure.
• A proactive, performance‑driven work ethic, always putting people at the heart of decisions.
• A commitment to delivering high standards in everything you do.
• A willingness to learn, grow, and work effectively across different teams and departments.
