About the Role

FINTEC Recruit is seeking an Electronic Engineer for our successful and established engineering client based in Caithness and Sutherland. 

This is a permanent, full-time position with relocation allowance/assistance if relevant.   

Working Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–12.30pm

Competitive salary depending on experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic circuits and systems
  • Work on battery management systems (BMS) and power electronics
  • Produce schematics and PCB layouts
  • Support testing, prototyping, and fault‑finding
  • Create technical documentation
  • Work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
  • Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards

Requirements for the Electronic Engineer

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering (or similar)
  • 3+ years’ experience in electronic design
  • Experience with analogue, digital, or power electronics
  • PCB design experience using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad
  • Embedded systems and microcontroller knowledge
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
  • Experience with battery systems or BMS
  • Knowledge of regulated or safety‑critical industries
  • EMC/EMI experience
  • Embedded C/C++ knowledge
