SEND Teaching Assistant - Rochdale

About the role:

Justteachers are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND teaching Assistant  to join a modern SEND school in Rochdale on a full-time, long-term basis starting in September.

This specialist provision supports pupils aged 4 to 16 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The role is a long-term temporary position beginning in September, offering the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact from the outset.

Maintain clear, regular, and effective communication with parents and carers regarding each pupil’s progress, development, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored support to students with additional needs within a dedicated provision setting.

 

Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and effective behaviour strategies.

 

Drive a positive and inclusive learning environment.

 

Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted interventions.

 

Offer consistent support for students’ social, emotional, and sensory needs throughout the school day.

Pre-requisites:

Demonstrated experience supporting children in SEND or targeted intervention roles.

 

In-depth knowledge of SEND strategies and commitment to inclusive education.

 

Ability to maintain a calm, consistent, and positive approach to learning and behaviour.

 

Two or more recent, education based references within the last 2 years.
