Performance Engineer
6 Month contract initially + Extensions
Based: Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite in Swindon
Rate: £Market rates p/d - (via Umbrella company)

The ideal candidate will have experience with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices performance testing.
* Knowledge of database performance tuning (SQL, NoSQL).
* Exposure to security and compliance considerations in performance engineering
* load, stress, scalability, and endurance testing to evaluate system behaviour under different conditions
Key Responsibilities;
* Data Analysis, Capacity Planning, Performance Metrics, and Scalability Testing. Ability to analyse system performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
* Workload Modelling : Extracting data from production environments to understand user behaviour and system usage patterns .Designing performance test scenarios that mimic real-world usage, including peak loads and typical user interactions and continuously analysing test results and adjusting workload models to ensure accuracy and relevance
* Database Management: Strong understanding of database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
* Programming Skills: Knowledge of any programming languages such as Python, or any other language for scripting and automation
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve performance issues
* Performance Testing: Proficiency in performance testing tools like LoadRunner, JMeter, and Gatling to simulate user load and identify bottlenecks.
Key Skills & experience:
* Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, DevOps. CI/CD.
* JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
* Monitor and analyse system performance using APM tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Splunk
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
* Design, develop, and execute performance test plans, scripts, and scenarios
* using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
* Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct root cause analysis, and suggest
* optimisations for software applications, databases, and infrastructure.
* Work closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure
* performance best practices are integrated into the software development
* lifecycle (SDLC).
* Monitor and analyse system performance using APM tools such as New Relic,
* Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Splunk.
