IT Project Manager - Legal and Compliance Overview

We are seeking an experienced Legal & Compliance IT Project Manager to lead and deliver technology initiatives supporting Legal, Compliance, Governance, Risk, Privacy, and Quality functions within a highly regulated environment.

The successful candidate will combine strong project management capabilities with a deep understanding of compliance and governance processes, ensuring technology solutions meet regulatory, audit, and operational requirements while delivering measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Governance, and Risk technology projects.

• Manage system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and business process transformation initiatives.

• Partner closely with senior stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Privacy, Quality, and Governance functions to define requirements and ensure successful project outcomes.

• Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, resources, risks, dependencies, and governance activities.

• Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, system integrators, and third-party service providers.

• Ensure solutions meet regulatory, audit, and data integrity requirements.

• Drive project governance, status reporting, stakeholder engagement, and executive communications.

• Support testing, validation, change management, training, deployment, and post-go-live activities.

• Ensure appropriate controls, documentation, and audit readiness throughout the project lifecycle.

• Deliver projects across complex global and multi-regional business environments.

Required Experience

Essential

• Proven track record delivering compliance, privacy, governance, legal technology, or risk management projects from initiation through to successful completion.

• Experience delivering projects such as:

  • Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) implementations

  • Privacy and data protection programmes

  • Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) deployments

  • Compliance and governance transformation initiatives

  • Document, records, or case management implementations

• Experience working directly with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Risk, Governance, or Quality functions.

• Strong project delivery experience across complex enterprise environments.

Highly Desirable

• Experience delivering validated systems within regulated industries.

• Practical knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV) principles and GAMP 5 methodologies.

• Experience supporting projects subject to regulatory inspection, audit, and validation requirements.

Technical & Functional Knowledge

Strong understanding of compliance and governance technology platforms, including:

• Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions

• Data Privacy and Consent Management platforms

• Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems

• Document and Records Management solutions

• Whistleblowing, Investigations, and Case Management platforms

• Compliance monitoring and reporting tools

Working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance frameworks these systems support, including:

• Data privacy and GDPR requirements

• Governance and risk management frameworks

• Transparency and disclosure obligations

• Regulatory compliance and audit requirements

• Data integrity and audit trail controls

Ability to challenge, refine, and shape business requirements rather than acting solely as a project coordinator.

Qualifications & Certifications

Essential

• PMP and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification

• Agile certification such as:

  • PMI-ACP

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

  • Equivalent Agile Project Management certification

Strongly Preferred

• Privacy certifications:

  • CIPP/E

  • CIPM

• Risk and governance certification:

  • CRISC

• Computer System Validation (CSV) or GAMP 5 training/certification

Desirable

• CISA

• CISM

• Other audit, governance, or security-related certifications
