About the Role

<p><strong>Senior Quantity Surveyor </strong><br /><strong>Location: Chippenham (3 days on-site, 2 days working from home) </strong><br /><strong>12 month contract (outside of IR35) </strong><br /><strong>&pound;400 &#8211; 500 per day</strong> </p> <p><u>About the Role:</u> <br />&#8211; We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide post-contract commercial support across a range of work packages. This is a key role supporting project delivery, ensuring commercial success while maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. <br />&#8211; You will play a vital role in managing costs, controlling change, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on time. </p> <p><u>Responsibilities:</u> <br />&#8211; Provide post-contract commercial support across subcontract, materials, and direct labour packages <br />&#8211; Ensure projects are delivered within cost and time constraints <br />&#8211; Support the commercial management of work packages including Design, Installation, Test &amp; Commission, Materials, Telecoms, Electrification, Power, Plant, Professional Services, Civil Engineering, and Permanent Way <br />&#8211; Manage change control processes for assigned work packages <br />&#8211; Act as the primary commercial interface for work package managers <br />&#8211; Provide contractual and commercial support to Project Managers and Engineering teams <br />&#8211; Manage costs, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial control <br />&#8211; Identify, monitor, and mitigate commercial risks <br />&#8211; Contribute to internal and external commercial reporting <br />&#8211; Ensure compliance with company processes and document control standards <br />&#8211; Collaborate with finance, project management, engineering teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients <br />&#8211; Maintain auditable records in line with contractual requirements </p> <p><u>Requirements:</u> <br />&#8211; Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a contractor-side project environment <br />&#8211; Background in industries such as rail, engineering, defence, construction, or similar <br />&#8211; Degree qualified (or equivalent) and/or working towards professional accreditation (e.g. RICS, IACCM) <br />&#8211; Strong experience managing direct labour and subcontract costs <br />&#8211; Skilled in estimating and managing change/variations <br />&#8211; Experienced in cost forecasting and variance analysis <br />&#8211; Strong commercial reporting experience (internal and external) <br />&#8211; Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills <br />&#8211; Strong commercial and financial acumen <br />&#8211; Able to work independently under tight deadlines <br />&#8211; Solid contractual knowledge and experience <br />&#8211; Confident communicator, able to engage at all levels <br />&#8211; Strong team player with collaborative approach <br />&#8211; Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) </p> <p>If this is of interest, please apply with your most up to date CV and one of the team will be in touch.</p>
