This role involves providing comprehensive interventional radiology coverage, including stroke-related procedures, biopsies, and various IR interventions within a busy hospital setting.

- Procedures include IR interventions, stroke CTs, and outpatient contrast studies

- Support staff includes radiology nurses and techs
- Large radiology group in Sacramento for overflow and after-hours reads
Schedule Details
- Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Coverage dates as specified above
- On-call or after-hours coverage details to be discussed during presentation
Clinical Scope
- Hospital coverage involving IR procedures, stroke CTs, and general diagnostic imaging
- Procedures include lumbar punctures, barium studies, centesis exams, CT/US biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, nephrostomy tubes, intra-abdominal abscess drainage, chest tubes, suprapubic catheters, and biopsies of thyroid, lung, and other sites
- Support for acute care imaging needs in ED and ICU settings
- Management of contrast-enhanced CTs and MRIs in outpatient building
Practice Environment
- Located within a general acute care hospital in Grass Valley, California
- Facility is stroke-certified but not designated as a trauma center
- Equipped with Cerner EMR and a dedicated radiology team supporting inpatient and outpatient IR procedures
Requirements
- Active California medical license
- MD degree
- Procedural skills in IR, stroke CTs, and acute care imaging
- Credentialing with other facilities preferred
- Ability to perform lumbar punctures, biopsies, drains, and IR interventions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with acute care IR procedures
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR
- Prior hospital-based IR coverage
