About the role:
justteachers is looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis within an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting from September 2026. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support throughout lessons and school activities.
- Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and meeting individual learning targets.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
- Support emotional wellbeing and implement behaviour support strategies where required.
- Liaise with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEN.
- Understanding of a range of additional needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, or moderate learning difficulties.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to motivate and build positive relationships with young people.
- Reliable, professional, and flexible approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
