About the Role
Senior Finance ManagerCambridge | £50,000 - £55,000An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join one of the Cambridge Colleges as Senior Finance Manager, taking ownership of the finance function within a unique organisation that combines charitable, educational and commercial operations. Reporting directly to the Bursar, you will lead a small finance team and take responsibility for all aspects of financial management, partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure the College continues to operate effectively while supporting its long-term strategic ambitions.This is a broad, hands-on role, ideally suited to someone who enjoys being involved in both the detail and the bigger picture.Key responsibilitiesLead the day-to-day finance function, managing a small team.Produce monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cashflow reporting.Maintain strong financial controls and oversee all balance sheet reconciliations.Lead the annual audit process and statutory reporting.Manage VAT, payroll liaison, treasury and financial compliance.Support senior leadership with financial analysis and strategic decision-making.Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting and financial processes.Work closely with both charitable and commercial activities, including conferencing and hospitality operations.About youYou will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience of leading a finance function in a hands-on environment.You'll enjoy operating autonomously, be comfortable rolling your sleeves up when required, and possess the communication skills to build strong relationships across the organisation.Experience within the charity, education, not-for-profit or hospitality sectors would be advantageous but is by no means essential.What's on offer?Opportunity to become the senior finance professional within a well-respected Cambridge institution.Broad and varied role with genuine autonomy.Manage and develop a small finance team.Work within a collaborative and supportive leadership team.Beautiful Cambridge location.Competitive salary of £50,000-£55,000 plus benefits.If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact while enjoying variety, autonomy and purpose, we'd be delighted to hear from you.Please contact Scott Park at The ONE Group for a confidential discussion, or apply now for more information.
