About the Role

<p><strong>Job Title: Warehouse Worker</strong><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>This role supports a busy wholesale warehouse in the plumbing and waterworks industry by accurately filling customer orders, handling inventory, and preparing products for shipment. You will work both inside the warehouse and in the outdoor yard, using equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners while contributing to a fast-paced, safety-focused operation.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Accurately pick, pull, and fill daily orders for plumbing and waterworks products.</li><li>Prepare, package, and ship orders in a timely and efficient manner.</li><li>Load and unload trucks using a forklift and other material handling equipment.</li><li>Use RF scanners and scan guns (including Zebra devices) to track inventory and process orders.</li><li>Perform inventory and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.</li><li>Work in the warehouse yard to handle and move large pipe and other outdoor-stored materials.</li><li>Assist with fast-paced will-call orders and ensure customers receive the correct items quickly.</li><li>Use basic data entry and computer skills to update orders, inventory records, and shipping information.</li><li>Operate order pickers/cherry pickers and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively.</li><li>Use hand and power tools as needed for material handling and basic tasks.</li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally over radio with team members and supervisors.</li><li>Lift and move products weighing up to and over 50 pounds throughout the shift.</li><li>Work both independently as a self-starter and collaboratively as part of a small warehouse team.</li><li>Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture in the warehouse and yard.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.</li><li>Demonstrate reliability and strong work ethic with consistent attendance and productivity.</li><li>Position yourself for potential advancement opportunities, including non-CDL local driving roles or lead positions.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>At least 1 year of forklift operation experience in a warehouse or similar environment.</li><li>6 months to 1 year of experience operating an order picker or cherry picker.</li><li>Proficiency with RF scanners, scan guns, and Zebra devices for order processing and inventory management.</li><li>Basic data entry and computer skills for updating orders and inventory.</li><li>Experience with inventory and cycle counting processes.</li><li>Order pulling and material handling experience in a fast-paced warehouse.</li><li>Ability to lift 50 pounds or more repeatedly during the workday.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in both hot and cold conditions, including outdoor environments.</li><li>Effective verbal communication skills, including clear communication over radio.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work as a self-starter, take initiative, and work with minimal supervision.</li><li>Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and support coworkers as needed.</li><li>Forklift, stand-up forklift, and general warehouse equipment operation skills.</li><li>Capability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check if moving into a local non-CDL driving role.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in wholesale distribution, shipping, and receiving.</li><li>Experience in a fast-paced warehouse setting handling a high volume of orders.</li><li>Hand and power tool experience for basic warehouse tasks.</li><li>Familiarity with plumbing and waterworks products such as pipe, fittings, and fixtures is a plus.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and inventory counting.</li><li>Commitment to safety and adherence to safety procedures and guidelines.</li><li>Comfort working in a smaller team environment where culture and collaboration are highly valued.</li><li>Alignment with a company culture that emphasizes family values and teamwork.</li><li>Interest in long-term growth, including advancement into driving or lead positions.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>Join a long-established, family-oriented wholesale organization that truly emphasizes safety, teamwork, and internal growth. Conditions can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer, so comfort working in changing temperatures is important. The team is a smaller crew of around 10 people, creating a close-knit, collaborative environment where culture and safety are top priorities.
