The ACT WorkKeys is a supplemental assessment to the ACT and can be used to obtain additional scholarship money through TOPS Tech for community colleges and some four year colleges. The ACT WorkKeys also provides students with a college and job “resume builder.” The assessments measure foundational skills required for success in the workplace, and help measure the skills that can affect job performance. WorkKeys assessments are:
Each assessment offers varying levels of difficulty. The levels build on each other, incorporating the skills assessed at the previous levels. For example, at Level 5, individuals need the skills from Levels 3, 4, and 5. The complexity increases as the quantity and/or density of the information increases.
There are three subtests of the ACT WorkKeys assessment: Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy and Applied Math. Students will have 55 minutes to complete each subtest. Based on their performance on these tests, students will receive a level score of 3-7 for each. Based on your three level scores, you receive a WorkKeys Designation.
