SEND Reception Teacher - Rochdale

About the role:

Justteachers are looking for a full time empathetic SEND Reception Teacher to join a pioneering SEND school in Rochdale to cover on a long term basis starting in September.

This specialist setting supports children aged 4–11 with a diverse range of SEND needs.

The position is a long-term, temporary role starting in September and allowing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from day one.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and carers about each pupil’s progress and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver inclusive, engaging lessons tailored to students with a range of learning needs, including cognition and learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, sensory and physical challenges, ASC, ADHD, and other complex requirements.

Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and colleagues to create an effective and supportive learning environment.

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, taking time to understand their individual needs and what motivates them.

Uphold the school’s ethos and contribute to its inclusive, nurturing atmosphere.

Pre-requisites:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Essential experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting.

Demonstrated experience supporting students with SEND, including Autism, SEMH, and a range of additional needs.

Ability to remain calm, patient, and composed when managing challenging situations.

A strong dedication to supporting children’s learning, progress, and overall development.
