ABOUT THE ROLE Our Client is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support and optimize the on-premises and cloud infrastructure powering critical business systems. This role will help strengthen infrastructure reliability, resilience, performance, and scalability while advancing automation through Infrastructure-as-Code and supporting monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the server lifecycle, including installation, upgrades, decommissioning, and ongoing support for VMware vSphere, vCenter, Windows, and Linux systems Administer Distributed File Systems and vSAN storage platforms Plan and execute infrastructure patching and version upgrades Perform root-cause analysis for infrastructure-related incidents and implement appropriate resolutions Participate in infrastructure design and documentation while collaborating across teams on major enterprise projects Implement operating system improvements that enhance reliability, performance, and scalability Support and maintain Rubrik backup and recovery systems Ensure data integrity through appropriate software and hardware controls Provide technical support for remote access technologies and Windows Active Directory administration Contribute to business continuity initiatives through disaster recovery planning and cross-site replication support Perform scheduled hardware maintenance and manage third-party application environments Serve as second-level escalation support for desktop and infrastructure issues Participate in an on-call rotation for off-hours support QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of five years of progressive, hands-on experience in systems engineering or systems administration Experience managing VMware environments, including vSphere and vCenter Experience administering Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 Experience working with major Linux distributions, including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS Proficiency with Microsoft Active Directory, Citrix, MECM/SCCM, MS-SQL, and IIS Strong troubleshooting skills within multi-site, mixed-technology enterprise environments Solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, and switching Knowledge of remote access technologies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and organizational capabilities Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications BENEFITS Competitive salary Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental benefits effective on the date of hire Strong learning culture with ongoing professional development opportunities Basic life and disability insurance 401(k) plan with a 6% company match 20 days of paid time off Two floating holidays Approximately 11 paid holidays Volunteer time off Paid parental leave Access to a comprehensive wellness program, including mental health services, fitness network membership, and a complimentary Headspace subscription Student loan matching program Employee discount program Opportunity to perform meaningful work within a collaborative and innovative organization
