About the Role
About the role: We are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Primary Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Coalville on a full-time, long-term supply basis starting September 2026. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. Key Responsibilities: Support teaching and learning activities across the primary age range. Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils who require additional assistance. Assist children with SEND and other learning needs. Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence. Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Support the implementation of individual learning plans and interventions. Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to teaching staff. Promote positive behaviour and support the school’s safeguarding policies. Pre-requisites: Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable. Experience supporting children with SEND would be advantageous. A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Good literacy and numeracy skills. Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). Right to work in the UK.
