Rent Recovery Officer

INDSS Rent Recovery Officer South Woodford, East London £15,000 - £22,500 (Part-Time, 3-4 Days) An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Rent Recovery Officer to join a well-established and highly respected property organisation in East London. This is a part-time, office-based role suited to someone with strong experience in arrears management, tenant support, and housing legislation. The Role You will be responsible for managing rent accounts, reducing arrears, and supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies, while ensuring compliance with current legislation. Key responsibilities include: Managing rent arrears cases and taking early-stage recovery action Supporting tenants with Universal Credit claims , including housing elements Setting up and monitoring repayment plans Applying for Alternative Payment Arrangements (APAs) where required Preparing documentation for legal proceedings and possession claims Liaising with local authorities and housing benefit teams Supporting eviction processes where necessary Conducting affordability assessments and tenancy sustainment support Requirements Previous experience in rent recovery, housing, or debt collection Strong understanding of Universal Credit and welfare reform Knowledge of landlord & tenant legislation and legal processes Excellent communication and negotiation skills Highly organised with the ability to manage a busy caseload Strong attention to detail and IT proficiency What's on Offer Part-time role (3-4 days per week, flexible hours) Competitive salary (£15,000 - £22,500) Supportive and professional working environment Opportunity to work with a well-established property business Additional benefits including bonus incentives and long-term perks Apply If you have experience in rent recovery or housing and are looking for a flexible, rewarding role, we would love to hear from you.
