Traveling Low‑Voltage Technician100% Nationwide TravelSchedule: Overnight shifts (typically 4 nights per site)Travel: 100% nationwideCompensation: Company vehicle, gas card, lodging, and per diem provided<hr /><h3>Position Overview</h3>We are seeking experienced Traveling Low‑Voltage / Cable Technicians to support a large‑scale retail IP security camera rollout. This role involves working as part of a 4‑person team to install, cable, test, and validate IP camera systems in big‑box retail environments across the U.S.Technicians will perform end‑to‑end installation, including structured cabling, hardware mounting, camera support, field‑of‑view (FOV) validation, and documentation.<hr /><h3>Required Qualifications (Must‑Haves)</h3><ul><li>Valid driver’s license (required for company vehicle use)</li><li>2+ years of IP camera installation experience<ul><li>Axis cameras strongly preferred</li><li>Experience configuring cameras and adjusting field of view (FOV)</li></ul></li><li>Structured cabling experience<ul><li>CAT5e / CAT6 installation, termination, labeling, and testing</li></ul></li><li>Ability to read blueprints, installation scopes, and diagrams<ul><li>Blueprint comprehension will be evaluated during the interview</li></ul></li><li>Experience operating a scissor lift</li><li>Comfort working in IDFs, ladders, and lift environments</li><li>Willingness and ability to travel 100% nationwide for extended periods</li><li>Ability to work overnight shifts and remain productive</li></ul><hr /><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Install Axis IP security cameras per approved scope</li><li>(Approximately 35–38 cameras per store)</li><li>Perform structured cabling from cameras to IDFs</li><li>Terminate, label, and organize cabling at camera locations and in IDFs</li><li>Test and certify cabling (Fluke preferred)</li><li>Mount camera hardware using:<ul><li>Unistrut</li><li>Conduit</li><li>Surface and ceiling mounts</li></ul></li><li>Verify network connectivity to designated IDFs</li><li>Support camera configuration verification and firmware checks (with Help Desk)</li><li>Validate camera Field‑of‑View (FOV) per shot guides</li><li>Make physical camera adjustments as directed by the client AP team</li><li>Return to sites as needed for corrections or follow‑up work</li><li>Capture and upload required deliverables:<ul><li>Camera images</li><li>Test results</li><li>Validation documentation</li></ul></li><li>Upload documentation into ServiceNow</li><li>Follow all site safety requirements, PPE standards, and client protocols</li><li>Collaborate effectively within a 4‑technician overnight team</li></ul><hr /><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Strong Axis camera installation experience</li><li>Fluke certification or advanced cable testing expertise</li><li>Conduit bending or light EMT experience</li><li>Experience with large retail rollouts (Walmart, Lowe’s, etc.)</li><li>Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar documentation/ticketing systems</li></ul><hr /><h3>Technical Skills</h3><ul><li>IP cameras / CCTV systems</li><li>CAT5e / CAT6 cabling</li><li>Punch‑down and termination</li><li>Structured cabling installations</li><li>Low‑voltage systems</li><li>IDF work and cable management</li></ul>#WROJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Knoxville, TN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
