Visitation BVM School is accepting applications for a part-time CARES aide for our after-school program. The CARES aide is responsible for supervising and engaging with school-aged children in a fun, safe, and enriching afterschool program. This role involves planning and leading activities, assisting with homework, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, and maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere. The ideal candidate is patient, energetic, reliable, and passionate about working with children. The position is from 2:45 – 5:30pm, two days per week. Experience working with this age group is preferred.

Duties:

• Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and security during all program activities, including indoor and outdoor play.
• Enforce program rules and safety policies consistently.
• Ensure a clean and organized environment for children.
• Assist children with homework and provide academic support as needed.
• Introduce new ideas and creative ways to engage children in learning and play.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective program.
• Address and report any concerns regarding a child's behavior, well-being, or development to the program supervisor.
• Assist with the setup and cleanup of program spaces, including preparing snacks and sanitizing equipment.
• Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.
• Follow all licensing and organizational policies and procedures.
• Provide a safe and developmentally appropriate CARES program.
• Establish and maintain a safe educational environment consistent with instructional goals.
• Follow all school and Keystone STARS licensing policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• 2 years experience working with children.
• Updated clearances
  • Pennsylvania State Police Background Check
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI fingerprinting

Candidate must have all required clearances and must attend the Protecting God's Children class provided by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
