Hospitalist Physician - Medical Director

The Medical Director / Team Lead will play a key role in guiding the hospital medicine program. Responsibilities include: Partnering with hospital leadership including the Chief Medical Officer to ensure clinical quality and operational success Managing physician scheduling and helping fill open shifts Assisting with provider performance management and conflict resolution Participating in physician recruiting and interviewing for full-time team members Supporting operational goals including: Length of stay metrics Patient satisfaction targets Physician retention and engagement Quality improvement initiatives This role acts as the bridge between hospital administration and the hospitalist team to ensure the program runs smoothly and meets system-wide standards. Clinical Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient care for adult medical patients Manage admissions, rounding, and discharge planning Collaborate with consulting specialists across multiple service lines Ensure timely and accurate documentation within Epic EMR Participate in multidisciplinary care coordination with nursing, case management, and ancillary services Candidate Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active Georgia medical license (or ability to obtain) Leadership experience required including: Hospitalist team leadership Medical director responsibilities Scheduling or operational oversight Strong communication and team-building skills preferred.
