About the Role
Transport Administrator<br><strong>Location:</strong> Northampton<br><strong>Salary:</strong> £29,750 per annum<br><strong>Job Type:</strong> Permanent, Full-Time<br><strong>Working Hours:</strong> Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (8-hour shifts including a 30-minute unpaid break)<br><br>The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented <strong>Transport Administrator</strong> to join a busy transport operation based in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to play a key role in supporting transport compliance, fleet administration, and operational reporting within a fast-paced logistics environment.<br><br>The successful candidate will help ensure transport operations remain safe, efficient, and compliant through accurate record keeping, monitoring, reporting, and effective communication with drivers, managers, and external service providers.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport compliance records and documentation.<br><br></li><ul><li>Process, monitor and track vehicle defect reports, ensuring issues are recorded and escalated where required.<br><br></li><li>Support the preparation and distribution of compliance reports and performance data.<br><br></li><li>Monitor driver licence records and associated compliance documentation.<br><br></li><li>Assist with driver hours and Working Time Directive administration.<br><br></li><li>Liaise with drivers, vehicle maintenance providers, and operational teams to obtain and verify information.<br><br></li><li>Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and evidence.<br><br></li><li>Monitor fleet compliance records, including servicing, inspections, and MOT schedules.<br><br></li><li>Update transport and compliance systems on a daily basis.<br><br></li><li>Assist with compliance reviews, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.<br><br></li><li>Provide general administrative support to the wider transport management team.<br><br></li></ul></ul>About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:<br><br><ul><li>Previous experience within a transport, logistics, compliance, or fleet administration environment.<br><br></li><ul><li>Excellent organisational and time management skills.<br><br></li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy.<br><br></li><li>Good analytical and numerical abilities.<br><br></li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<br><br></li><li>Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.<br><br></li><li>The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.<br><br></li><li>A professional and confidential approach when handling sensitive information.<br><br></li></ul></ul>Desirable Experience<ul><li>Knowledge of transport compliance regulations.<br><br></li><ul><li>Understanding of driver hours, tachograph legislation, and the Working Time Directive.<br><br></li><li>Experience using transport compliance or tachograph management systems.<br><br></li><li>Previous experience within a transport compliance team.<br><br></li></ul></ul>What You'll Receive<ul><li>Competitive salary of <strong>£29,750 per annum</strong><br><br></li><ul><li>Permanent, full-time position<br><br></li><li>Monday to Friday working pattern<br><br></li><li>Opportunity to work within a supportive and professional transport team<br><br></li><li>Ongoing training and development opportunities<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>Apply today to join a growing transport operation where accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence are at the heart of everything we do.</strong>
