About the role:
A secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a dedicated Economics Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis from September 2026 (Part time applicants will also be considered). This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Economics specialist who is committed to inspiring students and developing their understanding of economic theory, global markets, and contemporary economic issues across Key Stage 5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Economics lessons in line with the curriculum across KS5
- Plan and deliver stimulating lessons that develop students’ understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial systems, and real-world economic issues
- Support students in preparing for assessments and examinations, helping them achieve their full academic potential
- Encourage critical thinking, analytical skills, and independent learning through the use of current economic events, data analysis, and case studies
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, organisation, and effective classroom management
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification
- A degree in Economics or a closely related subject
- Recent experience teaching Economics in a UK secondary school or sixth form setting, ideally including A-Level
- Strong subject knowledge and a sound understanding of current economic trends, global markets, and examination requirements
- Confident classroom management, excellent organisational skills, and a positive, supportive approach to teaching
