<p><strong>Head of Clinical Procedures – Registered Veterinary Nurse (Maternity Cover, 12 Months) – Upminster, Essex</strong><em>Salary: £35,500</em></p>
<p>A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to step into a 12-month maternity cover position as Head of Clinical Procedures, starting December 2025. This role is ideal for an RVN seeking career progression, leadership responsibility, and the chance to work within a well-equipped, modern veterinary environment.</p>
<p><em><br />The Role:</em></p>
<p>As Head of Clinical Procedures, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of all clinical procedure areas, maintaining consistently high standards of patient care and client service. This position blends hands-on nursing with leadership, coordination and training responsibilities.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Overseeing the day-to-day efficiency of clinical procedure areas</li>
<li>Working collaboratively with other Heads of Areas to optimise nursing team workflow</li>
<li>Supporting Student Veterinary Nurses, including guidance with NPL progress logs and off-the-job learning hours</li>
<li>Participating in all practical nursing aspects of Imaging, Dentistry and Non-Sterile Procedures</li>
<li>Working alongside certificate-holding Veterinary Surgeons and liaising with external specialists when required</li>
<li>Managing stock levels, equipment maintenance, and ensuring accurate record-keeping</li>
<li>Identifying and researching new equipment</li>
<li>Staying up to date with CPD and best clinical practices</li>
</ul>
<p><em><br />About You:</em></p>
<p>This role is suited to a confident and experienced RVN looking to step into a leadership position. You should be organised, proactive and passionate about maintaining high clinical standards. A strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills will thrive in this role.</p>
