Job Overview
Operates a multiple of production machines such as saws, presses, drills, and other hand and/or powered equipment, as well as automatic presses and similar equipment which may require raw material to be loaded onto stock reels.
A Day In The Life
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and limited setup requirements.
Measures dimensions on workpiece.
Starts and runs machinery to produce product, detects malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
Adjusts and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
Assembles product as needed.

Must be able to lift to 35 pounds
Must be able to stand on the job at least 75% of the time
Must be able to bend, lift, push, or pull without difficulty
Ability to use small hand tools on a daily basis
Frequent twisting of the head, neck, back, or hips may be required
