Purpose of the role:
MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The CR&O Structures Technician performs thorough inspections of aircraft structures, identifying and documenting any signs of damage or wear while complying with environmental health, safety policies, and procedures.
Here are the daily responsibilities of a CR&O Structures Technician:
Perform thorough inspection of aircraft structures, identifying and documenting any signs of damage or wear.
Comply with environmental health, safety policies, and procedures.
Execute sheet metal repairs and modifications on various structural components
Fabricate and/or modify structural aircraft parts.
Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached.
Perform mechanical, electrical removals and installations as required.
Interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Perform complex structural repairs on/off aircraft.
Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and compliance with aviation regulations.
Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance.
Here’s what is required to succeed:
Minimum of 5 years of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or sustained similar experience.
Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred.
CRJ airframe experience a plus.
MRO experience a plus.
Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) a plus.
10+ years of experience preferred.
Completed Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials.
Able to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
Possess (basic) set of tools.
Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions both verbally and in writing.
Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.
