About the Role

Senior Technical Business Analyst

Location: Remote (UK-based, occasional office travel required)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + bonus + benefits

The Opportunity

We are working with a growing UK-based financial services organisation that is investing heavily in its internal technology platforms. With a strong focus on modernising traditional processes and scaling their systems for external use, they are looking to hire a Senior Technical Business Analyst to support ongoing platform development.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality solutions are designed and delivered effectively.

The Role

You will act as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring requirements are clearly understood, well-defined, and effectively implemented.

This role involves continuous collaboration with developers, rather than a traditional “handover” style of analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit and analyse business requirements, focusing on underlying problems and outcomes
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure solutions align with business value
  • Break down requirements into clear, deliverable user stories and specifications
  • Identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies early in the process
  • Work closely with development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions between business and technical stakeholders
  • Support API and integration design by reviewing technical documentation
  • Validate delivered solutions against agreed requirements
  • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to stakeholders

Skills & Experience Required

Technical
  • Experience working with APIs (REST, JSON, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and integration requirements
  • Strong SQL skills for data interrogation and validation
  • Understanding of data structures and relational databases
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments
Business Analysis
  • Proven experience in a Business Analyst role within a technology-driven environment
  • Strong documentation skills (user stories, acceptance criteria, process mapping)
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
Communication
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with distributed teams is beneficial

Profile

  • Hands-on and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working closely with engineers on a day-to-day basis
  • Confident in challenging ideas constructively
  • Adaptable communication style
  • Motivated by delivery and problem-solving rather than people management

Working Model

  • Remote-first with occasional travel to UK office locations
  • Collaborative, agile environment

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Pension scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • Additional wellbeing and lifestyle benefits

Additional Notes

  • This is an individual contributor role (no line management responsibilities)
  • Long-term commitment preferred
  • Experience in financial services is advantageous but not essential
