About the Role
My Client as part of their continued growth are seeking to recruit a Senior Tax Executive.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist in the oversight for a respective client portfolio to ensure compliance with Maltese tax obligations and timely submission of necessary tax documents;
Review corporate and individual tax returns prepared by junior team members to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable legislation;
Prepare corporate tax computations, income tax returns (including fiscal unit returns), shareholder registration forms, and refund claim forms for clients, as required;
Prepare individual income tax returns of varying complexity, including those filed under Maltese residence schemes or specific tax statuses;
Liaise with the Malta Tax and Customs Administration in connection with standard client tax matters, including compliance queries and administrative procedures;
Provide support to the tax advisory department on an ad-hoc basis, particularly in matters involving corporate restructuring, share transfers, or cross-border considerations;
Contribute to the preparation of technical training materials, guidelines, articles, or other forms of content concerning relevant tax topics, under the guidance of management;
Collaborate with team members to identify potential enhancements to procedures, documentation, or client service workflows, and escalate these suggestions for managerial review and implementation;
Support junior colleagues by providing informal guidance and technical input, particularly during the review or preparation of client deliverables.
Requirements:
Qualified in Accountancy or equivalent (ACA, ACCA), with a CPA warrant;
Tertiary qualifications (MIT, ADIT) are advantageous;
Over 2 years of tax experience with expertise in Maltese tax;
Strong work ethic, ownership of tasks, and excellent communication skills in English and Maltese;
Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes like Excel, Outlook and Word as well as SAGE;
Very good command of English, both written and spoken. Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing;
The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it’s information for the company or for individuals;
Ability to work both independently and in a team;
Problem-solving ability and highly organised.
