About the Role

<p>We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing design-build firm in Indianapolis, IN. This role is not remote and relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have expertise in industrial refrigeration, with experience in working with ammonia as a strong advantage. This position focuses on designing systems, not products or machines, and requires close collaboration with clients.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>

<p>Create efficient and reliable refrigeration and mechanical systems</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Collaborate with clients to define system needs and create detailed budgets</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Develop 2D/3D CAD layouts and confirm performance through calculations and simulations</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Suggest enhancements to current systems to increase efficiency and sustainability</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Choose subcontractors, procure equipment, and support installation and commissioning</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Stay informed on industry regulations, standards, and new refrigeration technologies</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>At least 5 years of experience designing refrigeration/mechanical systems</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong estimation abilities</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Thorough understanding of industrial refrigeration, with a preference for ammonia knowledge</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Excellent problem-solving and communication skills</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Clean driving record</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></p>

<p>Salary range of $100,000–$150,000, depending on experience</p>
