About the role:
Justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Engineering Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Kenilworth for a full time long term position in September. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about developing practical skills, encouraging problem-solving, and delivering engaging lessons that help pupils understand engineering concepts and real-world applications.
You’ll be joining a supportive staff team in a school that values high-quality teaching, strong behaviour routines, and a broad, practical curriculum. The role involves teaching Engineering, supporting pupils as they build technical knowledge, develop workshop confidence, and apply design and manufacturing skills in a safe and purposeful learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Engineering lessons in line with curriculum expectations and pupil needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and practical learning environment that supports creativity, confidence, and technical understanding.
- Use workshop-based activities, demonstrations, and problem-solving tasks to make engineering accessible and enjoyable.
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet a range of abilities and practical skill levels.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning, safe working practices, student progress, and wider school life.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Engineering, Design Technology, or a related practical subject in a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong technical subject knowledge and confidence delivering practical, workshop-based lessons safely.
- Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and health and safety.
- Two relevant references, ideally from an educational setting.
