About the Role
A reputable London Local Authority is seeking a <strong>Class 1 Building Control Inspector</strong> to join its Building Control team during an exciting period of growth and increased development activity.<br><br><strong>Rate:</strong> £280–£300 per day (Inside IR35)<br><strong>Location:</strong> London <br><strong>Contract:</strong> Interim<br><br>This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly regarded Building Control service, working across a varied portfolio of <strong>residential, domestic and low-risk developments</strong>. You'll play a key role in ensuring new developments comply with Building Regulations while providing expert technical advice to residents, developers, architects and contractors.<br><br>Whether you're looking to broaden your Building Control experience or continue developing your career within local government, this role offers a supportive environment with a strong focus on professional development and collaborative working.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Undertake Building Control inspections on domestic and low-risk construction projects within the scope of your <strong>Class 1 Registered Building Inspector</strong> registration.</li><ul><li>Assess Building Regulation applications, plans and technical submissions, ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations and associated legislation.</li><li>Carry out site inspections and prepare clear, accurate inspection reports, identifying non-compliance where necessary and recommending appropriate actions.</li><li>Provide professional technical advice and guidance to homeowners, developers, architects, contractors and other stakeholders throughout the construction process.</li><li>Ensure compliance with the <strong>Building Safety Act</strong>, Building Regulations and all relevant statutory requirements.</li><li>Maintain accurate records using Building Control systems and contribute to the efficient delivery of the Building Control service.</li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to deliver high-quality, customer-focused Building Control services.</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high professional and regulatory standards.</li></ul></ul><strong>About You<br></strong><br>We're looking for an enthusiastic Building Control professional who has:<br><ul><li>Current registration as a <strong>Class 1 Registered Building Inspector (RBI)</strong> with the Building Safety Regulator.</li><ul><li>Experience working within a Local Authority, Approved Inspector or Building Control environment.</li><li>Sound knowledge of the Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and associated legislation.</li><li>Experience carrying out site inspections and assessing Building Regulation applications.</li><li>Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to a range of stakeholders.</li><li>Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.</li><li>A proactive and collaborative approach to delivering high-quality Building Control services.</li></ul></ul><strong>Apply Now</strong> If you're a <strong>Class 1 Building Control Inspector / Registered Building Inspector</strong> looking for your next interim opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
