Role Overview:
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support the learning and development of children in our Reception classes. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment that encourages children to explore, play, and learn. Your role will involve assisting with classroom activities, providing individual and group support to children, and promoting positive social, emotional, and academic development. You will play a key role in helping children make a positive start to their educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons and activities
Assist children in their learning, both individually and in small groups, to meet their specific needs
Encourage children's social, emotional, and physical development through play-based activities
Help create a safe, caring, and stimulating classroom environment
Support children with their communication, language, and literacy development
Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to the teacher
Promote positive behaviour and help children build confidence, independence, and self-esteem
Work closely with parents and carers to ensure children's well-being and development
Assist with administrative tasks, including maintaining children's learning records and preparing resources
Support children with personal care routines, as needed
Key Requirements:
A genuine passion for working with young children and a desire to support their learning and development
Previous experience working with children in an EYFS setting is desirable but not essential
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred
Good knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents
A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
