This course, alongside training in accountancy, has enabled her to become a freelance hair and make-up artist, a career which better fits around her childcare responsibilities.  Jacy’s learning has unlocked opportunities working on celebrity shoots, and with big brands such as House of Holland. See some examples of Jacy's work. Finding this course really helped me to get back on track and regain the confidence I needed to feel competent with all areas of my job and more. It was like therapy to refine my old skills, whilst learning lots of new ones too. —  Jack Mattia, community vaccinator Mattia studied functional skills in English at Haringey Adult Learning Service. Mattia was ‘a bit sceptical’ when starting the course but soon released how the much the course was helping him improve his confidence and skills.  After completing his course Mattia was able to secure a better paid role as a community vaccinator, delivering COVID-19 and flu vaccines to Londoners who find it difficult to leave their homes. At the time I joined the English course I was working as a waiter in the middle of the pandemic, meaning going in and out of furlough. The improved confidence in communicating clearly in English helped me to find a job as a vaccinator. —  Mattia Luisabel, operations and logistics coordinator Before starting learning, Luisabel had not been working for a few years whilst focusing on looking after her young daughter.   Luisabel was initially looking into university education, even securing a University offer, before deciding to pursue more practical and hands-on experience. I looked up for many types of course relevant to the logistics field including accountancy, as part of activities managed by logistics executives [include] logging invoices and financial documents. The course of booking and accountancy L1 I did with Haringey Adult learning had definitely helped me to get my job. —  Luisabel Find a course with our interactive map There are thousands of adult learning courses available through the Mayor of London, and it’s never too late to start.
