About the role:
Justteachers is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Nuneaton for a full time long term position from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about helping pupils explore the world around them through engaging lessons in subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Education, and wider humanities topics.
You’ll be working as part of a supportive staff team within a school that values high-quality teaching, positive behaviour expectations, and a broad curriculum. The successful candidate will teach Humanities, supporting pupils to develop curiosity, critical thinking, subject knowledge, and an understanding of people, places, cultures, beliefs, and historical events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons that meet curriculum expectations and support pupil progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel encouraged to ask questions, discuss ideas, and think critically.
- Use a range of resources, discussions, case studies, and real-world examples to make humanities topics meaningful and accessible.
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning, student progress, enrichment opportunities, and wider school life.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Humanities, History, Geography, Religious Education, or a related subject within a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons across a range of humanities topics.
- Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievement.
- Two suitable references, preferably from an education setting.
