<p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Quality Engineer<br /><strong>Location:</strong> Sheffield<br /><strong>Salary:</strong> £40,000-£42,000</p>

<h3>The Opportunity</h3>
<p>We are recruiting for an experienced <strong>Quality Engineer</strong> to join a well-established operation based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards within a high-volume manufacturing environment.</p>
<p>The business supplies precision cast components into demanding sectors including engineering, automotive, rail and industrial markets, where compliance, traceability and process control are critical.</p>

<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Maintain and develop the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 standards</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Lead internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Conduct root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) and drive corrective & preventive actions</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Support foundry process control including melting, moulding, casting and finishing operations</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Oversee metallurgical and dimensional inspection processes</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Manage non-conformance, concession and customer complaint processes</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Work closely with production, metallurgy and engineering teams to reduce scrap and improve yield</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the foundry</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Maintain quality documentation, control plans, PFMEA and inspection plans</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Liaise directly with customers on technical quality matters</p>
</li>
</ul>

<h3>Required Experience & Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Proven experience as a Quality Engineer.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Strong understanding of metallurgical processes and casting defects</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Experience with ISO 9001 (IATF 16949 advantageous)</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Competent in root cause analysis methodologies</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Experience with dimensional inspection techniques and CMM (advantageous)</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Strong analytical mindset with a hands-on approach on the shop floor</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to communicate effectively across production and management teams</p>
</li>
</ul>
