Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting a growing and well-established engineering services business, as they look to appoint a Service Engineer with a background in mechatronics, electrical or electronic systems.

This business specialises in industrial weighing systems and associated technologies, supporting a wide range of customers across multiple sectors. They offer a highly varied, field-based role where no two days are the same, combining hands-on engineering with customer interaction and system integration work.

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, repair and calibration of industrial weighing equipment, working both independently and as part of a wider technical team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring equipment performance, supporting customers and maintaining high service standards across the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy and working in different environments. You’ll receive full training within the weighing industry, making this an excellent move for someone looking to broaden their skillset and step into a specialist field.

What You’ll Be Doing

A genuinely varied, field-based role including:

• Installation and commissioning of industrial weighing systems
• Servicing, calibration and maintenance of equipment
• Fault finding across electrical, electronic and mechatronic systems
• Integration of weighing systems with automation and control systems
• Preventative maintenance and system upgrades
• Providing technical support to customers both on-site and remotely
• Preparing service reports and maintaining accurate documentation
• Travelling to customer sites, including occasional extended stays away from home

 

What They’re Looking For

• Diploma or trade qualification in Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience in installation, fault finding and repair
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• A practical, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
• Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home when required
• Full UK driving licence

 

Desirable Experience

• Experience with industrial weighing systems, load cells or calibration
• Exposure to automation, sensors or control systems
• Background in field service or industrial environments
• PLC knowledge or system integration experience
