About the Role

Chassis - Suspension Engineering Intern (Internship - Summer 2026) HATCI is seeking a Chassis Suspension Engineering Intern for Summer 2026! WHAT YOU WILL DO  Benchmark Air Suspension applications for future consideration in BoF trucks and SUVs.    Understand performance, packaging, software integration and manufacturing limitations for Air Suspension System. Collaborate to develop an Air Suspension proposal for a BoF architecture.    Understand vehicle architecture complexity impacts. Conduct research and development activities to identify new materials and manufacturing processes that can be utilized to improve project outcomes. Support & interface with other engineering and design functions for Review part/system performance and regulatory requirements. Assess field claims, customer feedback and other sources and recommend engineering improvements. Study and interpret regulations and performance requirements. Develop overall vehicle requirements for Air Suspension application on BoF vehicles. Rear air spring design requirements for IRS and/or 5-link rear suspension. Help define Manufacturing requirements for future programs. Vehicle and Software integration requirements for Sourcing (at System Level) WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree Strong analytical skills and engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics, material science, fluid mechanics, mechanical design, and manufacturing. Cross-functional collaboration to understand manufacturing constraints and design parts to meet internal & customer design, cost and weight targets. Cross-functional collaboration to understand Vehicle and Software integration requirements. Ability to interface with other Chassis business units (e.g. brakes, steering, software) for vehicle development integration is desired. Knowledge and passion for mid-size and full-size truck segment is desired. Be a passionate engineer who wants to help develop future BoF vehicles. Have a passion for learning new skills to make themselves a better engineer and a more rounded team member. Be open to mentoring scenarios. You will learn from others as you grow your own skills and experiences. Have an open attitude and be a team player. Familiarity with MS Office to prepare reports/spreadsheets as necessary to support project work Basic CAD and 3D design experience.
