Transparency in Coverage Rule – Machine-Readable Files The table below provides a link to the machine-readable files that are made available by BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois to comply with the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule. The machine-readable files contain costs for items and services including: (i) In-Network Rate File: rates for all covered items and services between the plan or issuer and in-network providers, (ii) Allowed Amount File: allowed amounts for, and billed charges from, out-of-network providers. The machine-readable files are designed to allow researchers, regulators, lawmakers, patient and consumer advocates to develop tools and information to support consumer choice.
