The Role
Working closely with the General Manager and wider leadership team, you will play a key role in driving the success of the Newtownards site. You'll help develop the team, improve operations and ensure the business continues to grow while delivering the high-quality experience.
Responsibilities:
Operations & Service
Oversee daily operations
Plan and manage staff rotas to ensure effective coverage
Maintain smooth service flow, particularly during busy periods
Deliver consistently high standards of customer service
Lead daily team briefings to communicate priorities, targets and promotions
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, motivate and support a multi-department team
Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
Encourage a positive, professional and engaged team culture
Provide real-time coaching to drive performance and service quality
Customer Experience
Champion a culture of genuine hospitality and customer engagement
Empower the team to deliver memorable customer experiences
Ensure every interaction reflects the brand and values
Maintain a welcoming, organised and well-presented environment
Standards, Compliance & Processes
Ensure food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are met
Maintain high levels of cleanliness and presentation across all areas
Ensure all operational procedures and checklists are followed
Keep the site fully prepared for inspections at all times
Support consistent training and compliance across the team
Stock, Cash & Commercial Performance
Oversee stock ordering, availability and control
Monitor waste and implement reduction strategies
Manage daily takings, cash handling and banking
Track sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
Support promotions, upselling and seasonal campaigns
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Work with the wider team to support new product development
Encourage creativity in displays, merchandising and offerings
Identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency and performance
Support the implementation of new processes and initiatives
The Ideal Person:
Proven leadership experience in hospitality, café, Bakery or food retail
Strong organisational and operational management skills
Commercially aware with an understanding of sales performance
A confident communicator with excellent people skills
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and commitment to standards
