About the Role
TPF Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well established and growing accountancy practice in North West Kent in their search for a Financial Controller. This opportunity offers a varied, responsible role within a supportive and approachable team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who understands the internal workings of an accountancy practice and is confident managing financial operations at board level. This can be a full, or part time position.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will take overall responsibility for the internal accounting function of the practice.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing accurate monthly management accounts and board reports
Managing practice cashflow
Working to monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines
Supervising a small internal team
Completing all monthly reconciliations including bank, fixed assets, prepayments, accruals and work in progress
Subject to capacity, there will be scope to get involved in other areas of the practice, or some client facing work.
Requirements
To be considered, you must have previous experience in a professional services practice where fees are generated via time ledger.
You will also have:
Experience preparing monthly management accounts
Strong reconciliation experience across all key balance sheet areas
Working knowledge of IRIS and Xero preferred
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to work independently within a small team environment
Strong communication skills
