Role Description
As Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for improving the reliability, availability, maintainability, and overall performance of production and utility assets across the site. You will lead reliability initiatives, drive root cause investigations, optimize maintenance strategies, and mitigate operational risks throughout the equipment lifecycle. This role requires a proactive and analytical engineering professional who can translate technical data into actionable improvements while collaborating closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement reliability strategies and methodologies such as RCM, FMEA, RCA, and Weibull analysis
- Lead reliability improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and optimize asset performance
- Define, monitor, and analyze KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and failure rates
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs using condition monitoring and data analysis
- Support asset lifecycle management, spare parts strategies, and risk mitigation activities
- Provide reliability input during design, procurement, commissioning, and qualification phases
- Identify and manage operational risks related to equipment reliability, obsolescence, and single points of failure
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, and vendors
- Coach and support engineers and technical teams on reliability best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Aerospace, or related Engineering field
- 5–8+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance, or asset management
- Proven experience improving equipment reliability and operational performance
- Strong knowledge of reliability methodologies such as RCM, FMEA, RCA, and Weibull analysis
- Experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM or Maximo
- Experience with maintenance optimization, asset lifecycle management, and spare parts management
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and data-driven maintenance strategies
- Experience in regulated industries such as pharma, biotech, or manufacturing is a plus
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
