Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, personalised lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Develop positive, trusting relationships with pupils through a consistent and nurturing approach.
- Implement behaviour support strategies using trauma-informed and restorative practices.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and external professionals.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans.
- Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and independence.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant UK teaching experience.
- Previous experience working with SEND, SEMH or pupils with challenging behaviour is desirable.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- A patient, adaptable and empathetic approach to teaching.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
