About the Role
Materials and Corrosion Engineer – London This work scope covers the intent of the engagement and details the necessary activities required to be delivered by the PSC. Worley does not have sufficient number of Materials and Corrosion engineer employees available internally, who have the necessary skills and experience in the execution of Material and Corrosion engineering. To provide Engineering services and consultancy for Materials and Corrosion Engineering to MULTIPLE PROJECTS (Primarily Heidelberg). Engineering services for Materials and Corrosion Engineering for Pipelines, Industrial Plant facilities, Carbon Capture Plants, structures (onshore and offshore - new and existing installations). The services include the following:
Responsible for Materials and Corrosion activities and deliverables, such as:
Philosophies
Engineering Specifications
Materials Selection
Development of Reports/Studies
Corrosion Assessment Calculations
Corrosion Assessments
Corrosion Monitoring
Metallurgical requirements for equipment, piping and pipelines in special services (e.g. sour service, hydrogen service, etc.)
Material Selection Diagrams
Technical Bid Evaluations
Material Requisitions
Welding
Non-Destructive Examination
Painting/Internal coating/lining
Insulation
Fireproofing
Vendor Data Review
Maintenance of Worley specifications and standards.
Liaising with counterparts in other Worley offices.
Awareness and review of emerging codes and technologies.
Effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
Ability to work under minimal supervision whilst maintaining the ability to deliver assigned projects on budget and on time.
Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines, project management and Client teams.
Defines the discipline scope of work and the required resources,
Ensures effective management of change.
Participates in meetings with other members of the project team and Client representatives.
Participates in meetings with Suppliers/Vendors either remotely or at Suppliers/Vendors premises.
Particitaes in
Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects and demonstrating this by example.
Should be able to add value plus / optimization ideas, and provide engineering solutions.
The successful candidate must be a driven professional with strong commercial & business acumen.
Engineering Requirements
MSc in Materials/Corrosion Engineering
NACE and/or ICorr affiliation.
Has proven experience in Materials and Corrosion engineering and design in the Oil & Gas, chemical/petrochemical/energy transition markets (15 years)
A thorough knowledge of applicable international codes and standards and major Company/Operators standards
Good understanding of requirements of other departments and interfaces in engineering
Has already been responsible for (large) teams
Experience with Project controls, Scheduling and progressing
Experience in FEED, EPC projects and exposure to procurement support and field engineering activities
Ability to organize and set priorities
Ability to communicate and present effectively.
Good communication skills with peers and customers.
Ability to report in English, both verbal & in writing.
Term of Contract
12-month contract
Based in Worley London office (hybrid 3 days per week)
