About the Role

<p><strong>ROLE SUMMARY:</strong></p> <p>The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will be able to combine scientific expertise, analytical thinking, and critical communication skills in order to facilitate collaboration with diverse teams in multiple projects, nationally and internationally, supporting the company’s pipeline for success.</p> <p>This role will serve as a key clinical liaison to physicians and advanced practice health care providers (collectively HCPs) in order to communicate complex medical and scientific information to external stakeholders, as well as key insights from customer intelligence and patient care trends to internal stakeholders, including the clinical, product development, marketing, and leadership teams as directed.</p> <p>Through the MSL’s ability to interface, educate and collaborate with ID customers, they should respond to customer inquiries with focused and balanced clinical and scientific information and thoughtful and medically sound assessments that support the appropriate use of ID&#8217;s products and services.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <p>The MSL will focus on education, engagement, and insight to advance clinical adoption of current therapy and strategic development of future therapies.</p> <ul> <li><strong>External Education</strong> &#8211; Help execute medical education and commercial plans via external presentation of scientific, clinical and educational materials, individually or in groups, where requested.</li> <li><strong>Internal Education</strong> &#8211; Participate as a subject matter expert in internal educational programs to provide educational/training support to the commercial and clinical teams regarding disease state, available therapeutic options and appropriate use of ID therapeutic products using up-to-date technical, medical and scientific information.</li> <li><strong>Expertise </strong>– Serve as a resource to provide initial responses to medical information requests from customers regarding ID technology and patient identification questions, based on relevant clinical scientific data and clinical experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Decision-Making Authority: </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Routine Decisions:</strong> <ul> <li>Travel plans and arrangements related to flights, rental cars, lodging, per diem expenses, etc. based on approved schedules</li> <li>Expense management within company guidelines</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <p><strong>Education: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s of Science Degree</li> <li>Advanced Clinical/Science Degree (e.g., NP or PA, etc.; MD, PhD, PharmD) or other masters or doctorate is preferred</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Experience: </strong></p> <ul> <li>At least 5 years of direct patient experience and a demonstrated history of scientific and medical leadership, such as prior experience presenting scientific, clinical and educational materials to KOLs and academic centers, and professional organizations to gain awareness, acceptance, and advocacy of products and a history of credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts of strategic importance to the company.</li> <li>A history of experience with clinical data in a relevant field is preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Skills &amp; Abilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Outstanding interpersonal skills</li> <li><strong>Communication</strong> – the ability to effectively communicate complex medical and scientific concepts to multiple audiences using writing, speaking &amp; presentation skills</li> <li>Computer and technology competence, including Microsoft Office Suite &amp; TEAMS platform</li> <li>Ability to work in a matrixed organization</li> </ul> <p><strong>General Understanding Requirements: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal and written skills in English are required.</li> <li>Conversational fluency in other languages, including German and Spanish, are helpful but not required.</li> <li>Knowledge of Quality Management System and working knowledge of standards and regulations as outlined in the QMS documentation and structure</li> <li>Understanding of individual role in achieving company quality objectives and QMS compliance</li> </ul>
