CTR Group is seeking an Outside Machinist- 2nd Class local to the Norfolk, VA area. Immediate openings and urgently hiring!  What We Offer: Weekly Pay – you receive a paycheck every week Comprehensive Benefits Package Safety First!   Pay: $ 25   RESPONSIBILITIES: Assures that a Work Authorization Form (WAF) ticket is on the job site and that it is for the specific job being accomplished, no work will be accomplished without a WAF posted at location of repairsAssures that any other safety issues are complied with that relate to the specific job being accomplished (Example: special staging, face shields for grinding, protective clothing for hot work-related jobs, breathing apparatus with correct cartridges, etc.)Assures that you are trained for the work you are assigned to do (Example: JLG, forklift, welding, brazing, special electrical/mechanical repairs, etc.)Assures that personnel are working as safely and as productively as possible always maintaining quality controlAssures that a 30-minute cool down period has been accomplished in hot work areasAssures that the job site is left in a safe and clean condition prior to departureREQUIREMENTS: At least 4 years directly related experience in a Shipyard EnvironmentAble to read and use tech manuals and blueprints and specification itemsAble to use and understand precision measuring instrumentsOperate grinder (fixed and portable)Operate drill presses (fixed and portable)Fixed presses, porta powers, and hydraulic jacksTorches and torque wrenchesAssorted sizes of combination wrenchesSocket sets, slip joint pliers, adjustable wrenches, and wire pliersHammers-ball pean, flat head, small mall, and screw drivers (flat and phillips)Vise grips, 6” scale- 12’ tape measure, and snap ring pliersMicrometers, dial indicators, and calipersPipe wrench, punch set, and chiselsOther tools as identified and determined as neededShafting repairs and alignment, fixed and controllable pitchPropellers removed and installedRudders repair and installedAbout CTR Group:  CTR Group operates in the staffing and recruitment industry, Nationwide for over 35 years.
