<p><strong>Fire Stopping Technician</strong><br /><strong>Field-Based | Midlands</strong></p>
<p>A specialist compliance and environmental services provider is seeking an experienced <strong>Fire Stopping Technician</strong> to join their growing team. This is a newly created position within the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of fire stopping activities and play a key role in ensuring compliance with passive fire protection regulations across a variety of client sites.</p>
<p>This role will involve the <strong>installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire-stopping systems</strong>, supporting the integrity and compliance of fire damper installations across commercial and public sector environments.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Install fire-stopping materials including <strong>fire-rated sealants, boards, coatings, and penetration sealing systems</strong> to walls and floors.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Inspect and assess existing fire-stopping systems to ensure compliance with <strong>building regulations and fire safety standards</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Read and interpret <strong>technical drawings, fire safety reports, and specifications</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Carry out <strong>remedial works</strong> to rectify non-compliant installations.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Maintain accurate job documentation including <strong>photographic evidence and compliance records</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Work closely with other technicians to ensure <strong>efficient project delivery across sites</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Follow all <strong>health and safety procedures</strong>, including risk assessments and correct use of PPE.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Provide recommendations for improvements to fire protection systems where required.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Participate in ongoing <strong>training and development</strong>, with opportunities to support internal technician training.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Minimum <strong>2 years’ experience in fire stopping or passive fire protection</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Experience installing systems including <strong>batt, mastic, fire barriers and compounds</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>NVQ Level 2 in <strong>Passive Fire Protection</strong> (or equivalent experience).</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Experience working with products from manufacturers such as <strong>FSi, Rockwool, Firefly, or Nullifire</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to work <strong>at height and within confined spaces</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Strong attention to detail and ability to work from <strong>technical specifications</strong>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p><strong>Full UK driving licence</strong>.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3>Desirable</h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p><strong>ASFP Level 2 or Level 3</strong> in Fire Stopping.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p><strong>IPAF, PASMA, or SSSTS</strong> certifications.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Previous <strong>supervisory or mentoring experience</strong>.</p>
</li>
</ul>
