Are you an experienced CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator who can confidently set, prove and operate CNC lathes while producing high-quality precision components? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business investing heavily in its machining capability and future growth. Working a four-day twilight shift, you'll play a key role in producing precision aluminium components within a modern, quality-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Set, prove and operate CNC Vertical Lathes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Machine precision components to tight tolerances.
- Complete first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
- Use micrometres, verniers, bore gauges and other measuring equipment.
- Monitor tooling performance and suggest process improvements.
- Record inspection results, downtime and scrap accurately.
- Support continuous improvement activities while maintaining high safety standards.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Previous experience as a CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator or CNC Lathe Setter.
- Ability to read engineering drawings confidently.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Good understanding of machining tolerances.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Proactive approach with pride in producing quality work.
- Experience with PUMA CNC machines would be advantageous but is not essential.
