About the Role
UTEC, Acteon's Geo-services business line, harnesses data to optimise designs, save time and maximise your project's economic value by providing a holistic understanding of the marine environment. Our insights underpin customers' decision-making from design to asset life extension, ensuring every decision delivers.
We are looking to source a Financial Analyst on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Aberdeen, the main purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of the accounting and financial functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with FC / Group Finance and COE to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely reporting
- Review results, challenge figures, and provide variance commentaries where appropriate
- Prepare financial reports and dashboards for management (local MPR)/ Track business performance through KPIs / Support management with data-driven insights
- Coordinate new customer and supplier induction
- Coordinate with (and sometimes manage) project controllers
- Support the BL FCs and act as a delegate in their absence
- Coordinate with Treasury to manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring financial stability (13-week cashflow forecast, approval of bank payments)
- Assist BL with review and update of forecast and assist with upload of monthly 18 month rolling forecast
- Analysing costs and identifying areas for improvement / Monitoring operational expenses and ensuring cost efficiency.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the balance sheet through attending reconciliation reviews with the COE and support to resolving discrepancies
- Provide support to Group Finance and Centres of Excellence as required to ensure financial statements are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time
- Assist in the annual audit processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance function
- Support systems implementations and upgrades, help roll out with business
- Assist with collating information to support supplier payment runs
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent finance degree essential
- Part Qualified or Qualified ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA or equivalent essential
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent Excel skills and experience of ERP and financial reporting software
- Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
- Ability to work independently, strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation as well as collaboratively within a team
- Ability to manage multiple and fast-track priorities with a proactive and positive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across a geographically and culturally diverse organisation
