About the role:
Justteachers are working with a secondary school in Bradford to appoint a Progress Assistant to join their team in September 2026 on a full-time and long-term basis.
The Progress Assistant will join an inclusive team and implement agreed programmes and intervention strategies to groups and individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with teachers in planning, evaluating, delivering and adjusting work programmes/intervention strategies as appropriate
- Provide literacy/numeracy support to allow access to the curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate students’ responses to these learning activities through observation and recording achievement against predetermined learning objectives.
- Provide feedback to teachers and students.
- Be responsible for keeping records and updating systems as required by the teacher and/or SEND Leader
- To support tracking and monitoring of individual/groups of SEND students and make appropriate interventions to tackle under-achievement
- To support the process of monitoring outcomes within the Inclusion Improvement Plan
Pre-requisites:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at grade C or above
- Thorough understanding of child protection legislation and trained in child protection issues
- Use of relevant ICT software packages
- Relevant experience in a school setting
- An understanding of the specialist support services available to young people
- Two school-based references
