Justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wisbech that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an experienced Learning Support Assistant or someone with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support for pupils, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting learning materials to meet individual student needs.
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, moderate learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence within the classroom.
- Promote positive behaviour through consistent support and effective behaviour management strategies.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENDCo, pastoral teams, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers to support learning and development.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues.
- Support the school’s safeguarding procedures and promote pupil welfare at all times.
- Uphold the school’s values and commitment to providing a high-quality education for every student.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.
- A good understanding of a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and flexible approach to supporting learning.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Two recent education-based references.
