Senior Mechanical Antenna Design Engineer

We are working with a cutting-edge technology organisation developing advanced communication and sensing systems for real-world, high-performance applications. They are looking for a
senior mechanical antenna design engineer to play a key role in the design, development and delivery of complex antenna systems.
This is an opportunity to work on highly technical, mission-critical products at the intersection of mechanical engineering, RF systems and advanced manufacturing.
The Role
You will be responsible for the
mechanical design and development of antenna systems, working across the full product lifecycle - from concept and prototyping through to testing and production.
This role requires a hands-on engineer who can combine
strong design capability with practical implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams including RF, electronics and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components for antenna and RF systems
- Take ownership of the full product lifecycle (concept → design → prototyping → testing → production)
- Collaborate with RF and electronics engineers to ensure optimal system integration
- Conduct mechanical analysis including thermal, structural and environmental considerations
- Develop and validate prototypes using appropriate manufacturing techniques (e.g., CNC, 3D printing)
- Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-160 where applicable)
- Support testing, validation and troubleshooting of antenna systems
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability
Requirements- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally within antenna, RF, aerospace or telecoms environments
- Proven experience working on antenna systems or RF-related hardware
- Strong CAD experience (e.g. SolidWorks or similar)
- Experience working across the full product lifecycle
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical design principles
- Experience with environmental and reliability considerations (thermal, vibration, etc.)
- Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced engineering environment
Preferred Experience- Experience in aerospace, defence or high-performance communications systems
- Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL-STD or DO-160
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Background in electromechanical system design
